TODAY’S ASPECTS:

Today’s one of those teeter-totter days that can take you high off the ground, then slam the hell out of you on the way down. The Moon’s in Cancer, which can deposit us in the waiting room of Mood Swing Central, and it just happens to form a T-square with Pluto in Capricorn (an opposition at 9:38 AM EDT) and Uranus in Aries (a square at 1:13 PM EDT). I’m not too thrilled with the “act out” potential of this trio; I wouldn’t be surprised if we had another shooting incident today. Someone riled up by some sort of domestic situation (Moon in Cancer), projects anger out against the “establishment” (Pluto in Capricorn). Johnny’s triggered and gets his gun (Uranus in Aries). Pluto’s also square the Sun in Libra, so scenarios related to the relationship of people to those they perceive as having (too much) power over their lives may also be activated. The same dynamic may occur with less lethal or dramatic results today, too. Someone is overwhelmed by a difficult situation, can’t process the emotions, and does something bizarre or unexpected to resolve the tension. There’s an undercurrent of panic and a strange volatility seething today.

Since the Moon also slides into a Grand Trine with Saturn in Scorpio (10:57 AM EDT) and Chiron in Pisces (1:21 PM EDT), if we take responsibility for our feelings and work through the tough stuff, it can help mitigate some of the more explosive aspects of the T-square. However, it means we have to release our rage and any tendencies to offload our “stuff” on others. Moon/Saturn/Chiron can relate to scapegoating or issues related to martyrdom or victimization tendencies within families. Focus on patterns and synchronicities today. Major breakthroughs can result if we’re willing to do the work and commit to the process of healing. We have to change the dynamic if we want to see results.

THE SYMBOLS:

Sabian Symbol for today’s SUN: “A man teaching the true inner knowledge .”

Kozminsky Symbol for today’s SUN: “ A naked arm and hand, from which blood is flowing. Above, a sword.”

The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is: “ AFFINITY.”

The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is: “ENCROACHMENT.”

Today’s Kozminsky Symbol doesn’t thrill me when combined with some of today’s Moon’s aspects as noted above! It’s a Mars-related symbol, and Mars often acts as a trigger to set things off or get things started. This symbol relates to attaining power through forceful or warlike activities. The sword above indicates victory, or “winner take all”. The victories are hard-won, the battles bloody. Kozminsky says the warrior “endures a wound for the glory of getting it and the honour it gains him”. This is the “power and glory” trope, where to the victor go the spoils. The keyword tells us it involves turf wars and invading other people’s territories. Mars is in Leo, which calls up the imagery of the “warrior king/queen” who fights to preserve and extend the kingdom.

The Sabian Symbol channels today’s Water Grand Trine. It’s related to inspiration and the transmission of spiritual truths. Just as a Grand Trine is a flowing and positive configuration but needs a “boost” to kick it into high gear, information needs to be released into the general “pool of knowledge”. This Symbol is also about showing others the way and teaching them how to live up to their highest potential. Today’s one of those days when you can stumble onto something (you pick up a book, scroll through a website, overhear a random conversation on the street) and what you read or hear sticks with you for a long time. Pay attention; listen and learn. Intuitive powers are on the high beam setting now. On the down side, manipulating others, “spiritual vanity” or feeling you’re superior to others, believing or getting carried away with your own BS, trying to indoctrinate rather than teach, thinking you know what people need better than they do.

This pair calls in the Plutonic energies of the Judgement card (raze-it-to the ground, karma, endings, transmutation), followed by the Sun in Aries energy of the 3 of Wands. Being aware of the pattern, and how we’ve woven ourselves into the heart of it, brings awareness and allows us to release the past. Healing old scars. Using knowledge from the past to fuel our future plans. Getting the point and understanding the purpose. The weighing of the soul and its eventual rebirth. The Egyptian scarab (dung beetle).
