TODAY’S ASPECTS:

I’m back after taking yesterday off due to some form of creeping crud illness. I slept very late and had tons o’ fun coughing my way through the rest of the day. I’m still a bit woozy, but at least I’m sitting upright today. So before I relapse, here’s the Daily Astro:

Well, it’s a funky-monkey type of day, so keep your wits about you. We start off with the Moon in Leo, and it’s Void-of-Course until it enters Virgo at 2:52 PM EDT. Take care leftovers and catch-up duties in the early part of the day. I’m going to the doctor, which is a good thing to do when the Moon’s in Virgo. Maybe health routines and practices need some adjustment–if you feel under the weather, be sure and take care of yourself. Virus-y things are gamboling about!

Looking at today’s aspects, it seems like we’re entering the Forest of Dead and Partially Reanimated Relationships. Leave a trail of bread crumbs or you’ll never find your way out! Moon in Leo squares Venus in Scorpio at 12:48 AM EDT, the Mars/Venus square is still in operation, and Venus is square the Moon. Nobody’s needs are being met, but that’s the point. When everything’s going wrong, maybe something’s just not right. Maybe the life’s just been stomped out of some relationships and there’s no reviving them. With the Moon sesquiquadrate Change Agents Pluto (3:22 AM EDT) and Uranus (6:27 AM EDT), the more we struggle to maintain control, the wackier it gets (and the tighter the knot binds us). This is reinforced by a Sun/Pluto square at 9:28 PM EDT. It’d be smart to just let things go, but uncertainty scares the shit out of most people, so it’s likely we’ll be dealing with some version of mass psychosis as everybody finally figures out just which of the ships in their flotilla is sinking. Once the Moon’s in Virgo, your task is to slowly and methodically build your life raft and get ready for the journey.

Mercury trines Neptune at 5:46 PM EDT, followed by Sun contraparallel Uranus at 6:18 PM EDT and Moon opposite Uranus at 8:44 PM EDT, so we’re listening to the cosmic chatter, but sometimes the messages may lose a bit in translation. We’re very sensitive to the environment, maybe too sensitive and in a bit of a fog. Use that alien ESP to ferret out manipulative or “user” behavior that may become evident later this evening with the Moon/Pluto square. Yeah, there’s something going on behind the scenes. Just focus on what you need to get done in order to keep your world moving smoothly–don’t get drawn into the shadows. A Moon/Jupiter connection at 9:29 PM can tend to magnify fears and heighten emotional reactions, so don’t let today’s intensified strangeness make you defensive or fearful. Those of you born under Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn, especially if you have planets or angles at the 7-13 degree zone) may find things particularly challenging right now, as you’re in the sights of a Cardinal T-square composed of the Sun square Pluto and in opposition to Uranus (exact on Thursday). You’ll be a magnet for change and somewhat disruptive energies as you learn to shift and grow–it’s all about getting to the heart of the matter and discovering what skeletons you’ve been propping up that block your passage to a new life. Halloween’s on its way, so shake those bones!

Both of today’s Symbols tie into the Sun in Libra energy. The Kozminsky Symbol incorporates the astrological symbol for Libra, the scales, and the Sabian Symbol features an art gallery, certainly the domain of Venus (art and beauty)-ruled Libra. The Kozminsky Symbol can be seen as the Justice card reversed or ill-favored in combination with other cards, as it shows a lack of harmony, a “disturbance of the peace”. Kozminsky says that “inharmony” leads to a state of being in a “groove of fate” which holds “in bondage”. It’s about seeking reconciliation, finding the middle way, restoring balance, finding justice in the midst of strife. With the Sun’s aspects to Uranus and Pluto, there may be a feeling of being besieged by larger forces that are impossible to predict or control. We need to “hold the vision” during these times and try to retain a harmonious outlook even in the midst of chaos. This process of refinement and adjustment will take time to find the golden mean.

The Sabian Symbol, set in an art gallery, features three “old Master” paintings, which are meant to represent the blend of mind, body and spirit as found in a unified human being. The paintings represent the highest manifestation of creativity and artistry attained by humanity, and as such they represent our legacy from the past. They serve as an ideal to pattern ourselves after. (I’ve often seen art students sitting in front of paintings and studying them through making a copy.) The paintings are meant to relate to each other as a harmonious triad, or set. An art gallery or museum is open to the public, allowing everyone access to the greatest works of all time. This Symbol relates to the creative urge, inspiration, finding value in the past, and historical explorations/excavations of all types. On the down side, it can mean a “paint by numbers” approach to life, or a fear of breaking away from the norms of society due to a desire to be liked or admired (also a down side of the Libra archetype). Also: Entombed beauty, frozen and paralyzed in time. Being isolated from the source; detached appreciation rather than throwing yourself into something completely. It may be time to find a new approach (just study the life of Picasso)! Today’s lesson may involve learning how to deal with a wide variety of people, including some who will try your patience. You know the types: they’re the characters you see in every art museum. The ones yelling at the top of their lungs in order to impress others with their erudition, when all you want is a bit of quiet in order to fully take in the painting.
