The Daily Astro for May 6, 2012
After a rather intense Full Moon on the Scorpio/Taurus axis yesterday–everybody breathe, shake out the energy, and open up to your inner philosopher/traveler! The Moon aspects buoyant Jupiter early this morning, so we may have a tendency to exaggerate or over-emphasize our every mood and feeling, then moves on to make a couple of uncomfortable aspects to Venus and Mercury (glitches with relationships and communicating with others), but after the Moon enters Sagittarius we may find our spirits lift and we’re able to look at the bigger picture after feeling we’ve been hunkered down in swampy trenches for the past few days. Look to your dreams for clues about the future, as the Moon will square Neptune in Pisces at 2:18 AM EDT on Monday.
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A battle between the swords and the torches .”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A sea-gull flying over the waters of the ocean .”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Resolution ” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Wandering ”.
The Sabian Symbol sounds like a battle between the Swords and Wands suits of the tarot! It depicts a skirmish between opposing forces. (Notice that the tarot cards for today, below, also are reflective of an opposition). With oppositions, what often happens is we sway back and forth, first to one side, then to the other, before we learn to integrate and synthesize the energies of both. We often feel that challenges are coming at us from the outside, or we meet situations where we have to deal with factions or with people who oppose us. With swords vs. wands, think about any conflict that may be occurring between the way you think and your inner ‘fire’ or creative energy. Are these two aligned, or at war with one another? One way through this is found in the Kozminsky Symbol for today–the sea gull in flight takes the higher ground and has a very expansive, all-inclusive view of what’s going on by virtue of its position. (This Symbol brings in the wandering energy of Sagittarius–where the Moon is headed later this evening.)

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: The Sun/The Star
Another polarity pair for this weekend! I’ve drawn two majors, so we’re dealing with an internal process here, major issues that set the wheels of our destiny in motion. The Sun is connected with Leo and the Star is associated with Aquarius, opposite signs of the zodiac. This combination brings to mind “Here Comes the Sun”, the beautiful song by George Harrison. After all the trauma and upheaval we may have experienced, there is an opening for hope and healing. There’s a hint here of the necessity of healing through difficulty and disease, or moving through turbulent times as a step towards becoming whole. hings finally become clear, and we realize the naked, unvarnished truth as patterns start to make sense.
