The Daily Astro for May 7, 2012
The Moon remains in Sagittarius all day today. Normally this would be a freewheeling, breezy kind of day but the Moon makes a square to volatile Mars and a trine to “anything-goes” Uranus today, as Jupiter forms a semisquare to Uranus. And Mars and Uranus are moving toward an “adjustment” aspect –AND Venus is getting ready to go retrograde tomorrow (until June 26, 2012). Don’t jump in/to anything today, especially conclusions. Slow down a bit to avoid accidents (pay attention–distraction is not your friend today), and don’t get triggered by people who seem to want to provoke. The Moon square Chiron tells us many are in need of understanding and healing today. We may have to make some adjustments in our relationships with others. With Jupiter and Uranus involved in the mix, larger forces may be causing changes and electrifying the atmosphere. Investigate alternatives and stretch your mind to encompass changes.
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A woman holding a bag out a window.”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A gaudily dressed herald blowing a trumpet, at the sound of which two knights, one on a white charger, the other on a black, rush towards each other with set spears.”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “ Facilitation ” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “ Combativeness ”.
The Kozminsky Symbol seems directly related to today’s aspects the involve the planet Mars, the planet that relates to the fighting spirit, wars, aggressiveness, and anything requiring a bold outflow of energy. This Symbol warns against fighting for the show of it (the gaudily dressed herald calling attention to the battle), or fighting for fighting’s sake, and emphasizes the war between positive and negative forces (black and white) within. The Sabian Symbol, in contrast, refers to the old practice of hanging musty clothes and bedding in a bag outside a window in order to remove any stale smells. It’s a small thing, but one that is useful and improves the quality of life, and in contrast to the Kozminsky Symbol, there’s nothing showy or flashy about it. With Mars in Virgo right now, using some of our excess energy for day-to-day tasks that improve the quality of life may be a good idea. The down side of this: don’t become belligerent or fussy over minor details.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: Page of Cups/Magician
So here’s a combo that is “young”: the nascent water energy of the Page of Cups meets the eternally youthful energy of the Magician (the card is associated with Mercury, ruler of our mental processes, communication, children and “thinking young”). What’s being born from the depths now? What are you opening up to? There’s magic in beginnings now, so take a small step forward. Develop your skills because they are waiting to be harnessed and used. Just remember to avoid circular thinking or spending too much time navel-gazing. Use your abilities in a mature way, and don’t waste your valuable magic on parlor tricks or just to show off (see the Kozminsky Symbol, above).
