The Daily Astro for March 21, 2012

The Moon is in Pisces today.

The Daily Astro for March 21, 2012

The Moon is in Pisces today, “going dark” (right before the advent of the New Moon); it’s void-of-course for almost a whole day. There are also quite a few aspects occurring during this time period, including the Moon sextile Venus in Taurus and the Sun in Aries conjunct Mercury in Aries. So what does this mean? Consider today to be like a petri dish in a basement–there are all sorts of things bubbling away, getting ready to grow but not fully emerged from the primordial soup yet. Some may be abrasively bumping into each other, but the friction, the lucky accidents, can also give rise to new life. The rhythm may not yet be even, and the urge to rush forward (Sun, Mercury and Uranus in Aries) may clash with a need to ease up, take it slow & let it grow (Jupiter and Venus in Taurus). See the Tarot Enhancer/Antidote, which also reflects the idea of new growth coming from basic elements.

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A comedian entertaining a group.”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A man with a sword in his hand falling through a skylight of coloured glass .” The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Release” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Rashness ”.

Since these are Aries Symbols (and in the very earlydegrees of Aries), the primal nature of the Aries energy is emphasized. Both illustrate daring or bold actions and a willingness to insert the self  right into the middle of things. Both feature a central figure initiating an action. Comedians are often barometers of social mores, challenging our perceptions and view of the world; doing stand-up comedy, where you’re alone in front of the audience, requires exposing yourself, “front and center “ to appreciative listeners and hecklers alike. The fellow with sword in hand crashing through a skylight reminds me of Douglas Fairbanks in one of his swashbuckler films–the hero rushing forth to save the city (or some fair maiden in distress). He leaps into the fray and holds nothing back. Whether this is always advisable is the question. Note the keyword is “rashness”.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: Ace of Pentacles/2 of Wands
This combinations screams “Spring has sprung!” The Ace of Pentacles reflects the solidity of earth, its fertility and lushness, the seed-point of manifestation and the 2 of Wands (the Mars in Aries card, whose keyword is “action”), provides the energy for the new birth. The 2 of Wands sets it all in motion as we emerge from a time of hibernation, of being cradled by the earth, into the light. We’re called to take action and claim our right to be here; to take the first small steps forward on the path.
