TODAY’S ASPECTS:

The Moon’s in Aries, but is Void-of-Course from 8:40 AM EDT until tomorrow at 6:09 AM EDT, so the best bet is to use the early morning Mercury in Taurus trine to Pluto in Capricorn (2:32 AM EDT) to make big plans for everybody. This is the “code-reader” combination, expert at understanding what’s underneath the surface. Persuasive and powerful writing and speaking is emphasized today. Mercury/Pluto can connect with the masses in a very intense way, and since this trine is in earth signs, it can unearth and present “loaded” or deep psychological material in a very down-to-earth fashion. It’s a good day for research, solving mysteries, and generally getting to the bottom of things.

A Moon/Jupiter sextile at 7:41 AM EDT, followed by a Moon/Neptune connection at 11:06 AM EDT, can mean we’re very enthusiastic (Aries Moon) with huge goals in mind (Jupiter), but either we get disconnected, distracted or spaced out mid-stream (Neptune), so by lunch- time we haven’t accomplished as much as we’d hoped. There’s an ephemeral feel here, maybe whatever we’ve done has somehow vanished into the ozone or needs to be redone.

A Moon/Saturn hookup at 7:15 PM EDT deflates the balloon somewhat. Don’t be too hard on yourself if the day wasn’t quite what you expected. Other people may be depressed or uncommunicative; don’t push them, just give them some quiet time alone if they need it.

At 7:34 PM EDT, Mercury conjuncts Mars (in Taurus), so if you jotted down anything brilliant but cryptic earlier today, dig it out and perfect it now. This aspect is especially good for satirical commentary or writing and general wise-assery. Communications are apt to be very lively, with an edge. Don’t back people into a corner with jibes and attacks, though. Mars in Taurus doesn’t like to be backed against a wall–the bull may decide it’s had enough and charge right at its tormentor! Mercury also sextiles Chiron at 9:45 PM EDT, so there’s healing magic in sounds. There is a real power to our words today. Words can heal, hypnotize, seduce, enchant, convince, or wound. Listening to your favorite meditation, hypnosis or inspirational music/sounds would be a great way to end the day. Find someone whose “voice” appeals to you and immerse yourself.

Today’s Kozminsky Symbol has the flavor of the Moon in Aries, showing two flashy knights flying into combat, excited to be in the middle of the action and the center of attention. There’s a desire to be noticed here, to throw caution to the winds and take action. The double imagery (two warriors, black steed and white steed) also show a split mind or a mind in conflict that vacillates between opposing forces. The herald reminds us to take a look at the ways in which we “fight ourselves” today. Seeing things in black and white terms is not always the best route. There’s an odd theatricality in the aggression displayed today (the “gaudily dressed” herald)—look deeper and see if it’s a smokescreen or an indication that something else is going on behind the scenes. Messages and messangers are highlighted today.

The Sabian Symbol apparently relates to a practice popular in “ye olden days”, of getting stale odors out of clothing and household linens by putting them outside to absorb the fresh air. It’s a mundane task that improves the quality of life, so the emphasis is on the little things. What small thing can you do today that will improve your mood or make someone else happy? It doesn’t have to be a grand gesture—a note or card, a small gift, a kind word will work just as well. It’s also about being of service to others (on all levels) and providing a personal touch. Obviously, if we’re “de-stinkifying”, we’re cleaning house, so it’s a fine day to clean up your act, your thought patterns, your closets, or anything else that has acquired a veneer of crud and needs to be refreshed. Let some fresh air in—absorb new ideas, take a walk, enjoy the breeze, open up to the big wide world outside.

The down side here is to go Rogue Virgo and think that everyone needs to be told (or wants to hear, in great detail), about every little thing that’s wrong with them, their presentation, the state of their clothing, their work, and impressions of their general level of health or cleanliness. Be helpful; don’t be a pain in the ass! There’s also an implicit warning about “airing dirty laundry”–revealing secrets or taking things public that should remain private. Given some of the aspects today, I wouldn’t be surprised to hear or read about “leaked” revelations related to a scandal or criminal behavior involving someone famous or popular.

“Voices Carry”. This is a chatty but disconnected combination, like echoes through abandoned rooms. At first you might not like what you hear. Something’s been seeping in like water in a basement and you’ve gotten waterlogged. Stop taking on water, get up and get moving. Inertia is not your friend. This combo reiterates the Sabian Symbol’s message—time to “air it out”.

If you’ve been waiting for news about a stagnant situation, it may suddenly arrive. Gossip or sharp words may be part of the picture today (especially with the Mercury/Pluto and Mercury/Mars aspects, which can indicate sharp or sarcastic words), but it may be just what you need to hear right now. This can also relate to the voices in your head—negative self-talk or cacophony may have taken over. Look into any opportunities to travel and pay attention to messages from afar. The 8 of Wands in the Mythic Tarot is the “protected journey” card. There’s peace in the process as you move forward. Know that you can release past tension or sadness; you’ll invent a new rhythm to move to—find the music of your soul.
