RINGMASTER!

The Daily Astro for April 23, 2013

TODAY’S ASPECTS:

The Moon enters Libra at 3:25 AM EDT today.  I got up very early this morning (ugh) to attend a networking event as a guest. I met a few people, had some breakfast, talked about tarot and astrology and handed out business cards to everyone. It was all very pleasant and Libra-esque. The Moon in Libra is a good time to establish or solidify social connections, as people are in the mood to cooperate, so early-AM networking today is a very good use of this energy.

The rest of the day skews more unbalanced as the Moon makes a series of stressful/adjustment aspects. At 7:18 AM EDT, the Moon’s inconjunct Mars,  which means there’s a certain amount of emotional volatility in the air.  This is the temper tantrum aspect. It’s very primal–we want it, and anything standing in our way really pisses us off.  That Moon in Libra is clashing with Mars in stubborn Taurus, so your desire for peace and balance is undermined–or you’re thrown into situations that require quick thinking and fast action. Watch for crazy drivers and people who got up on the wrong side of the bed, as they may be acting out today. It’s not a particularly good idea to match them tantrum for tantrum, as  things will accelerate almost as quickly as a reckless driver!

Later this morning highlights two more inconjunct aspects, one to the Sun in Taurus and the other to Neptune in Pisces, which may just mean that you need to take a giant eraser to that pretty picture formulating in your head. Adjustments may be necessary in order for things to work properly.  You may require input or approval from someone who either doesn’t understand your vision or is too distracted to really pay attention. Look at it as an opportunity to make important, positive changes to your project; don’t get caught up in ownership or possession patterns or take any suggestions personally and you’ll make the best use of these aspects.

At 8:37 PM EDT, the Moon opposes Uranus and at 11:23 PM EDT it squares Pluto, so late this evening may be a volatile time where we struggle to keep the peace while tiptoeing not through the tulips, but through minefields.  Don’t forget we’re working towards a Scorpio eclipse on Wednesday, April 25, which adds another layer of intensity.  This is the type of day where you may discover a shocking secret about a partner or someone you’re close to, find yourself knee-deep in controversy or sucked into weirdo power struggles, even if you’ve desperately tried to avoid that scenario.  Sometimes it’s necessary to clear the air, and Uranus and Pluto know a thing or two million about that. Most of the time, people are reluctant to rock the boat, so then we get tossed into a tidal wave and slammed around to wake us up. It’s like the universe is saying, “Now that I finally have your attention…” ( This is also one of the themes of the upcoming eclipse.) Note what pops up in your line of vision today, and you’ll see which areas of your life need a revamp, renewal and/or revision.

At the end of the day, Mercury sextiles the Supersizer planet, Jupiter. You may find that today’s bumper car ride has opened a door to call your attention to new opportunities. The mind is working overtime now, but this is a flowing aspect, so we’re igniting that  fire and using it for illumination. We began the day with networking, and end of that day takes us back to that theme. Make an effort to connect before you turn in for the night. People are eager to express their ideas, and this is a playful, creative combination. It’s a good time to bounce ideas off friends or associates, so send that email/make that call. Move quickly to take advantage of anything new that pops into the picture as the day winds down. Don’t hold off until tomorrow, look into the opportunity now.

THE SYMBOLS:

Sabian Symbol for today’s SUN: “The rainbow’s pot of gold.”

Kozminsky Symbol for today’s SUN: “The arena of a circus during a night performance, the ringmaster in the centre urging forward the movements of a large white horse galloping around the ring, a lady gymnast standing on the animal’s back holding a hoop of fire.”

The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is:FAITH”.

The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is:   “INTREPIDITY.”

Well, can’t we just tell that  Sun, Mars and Venus are in Taurus now?  Today’s Sabian Symbol features a pot of gold! The usual meaning of this image relates to prosperity, success, and being rewarded at the journey’s end, but this one is twisted around a bit. Now, the main focus is on the rainbow and not on the pot of gold. The rainbow image relates to faith, spirituality, and being able to see and appreciate all things fine and rare. The pot of gold here is almost an afterthought. The emphasis is on the journey and the experience that leads to success and all forms of wealth, not the physical manifestation of the wealth.

This Symbol relates to happy travels, the ability to realize what true wealth is,being rewarded for hard work and the ability to manifest a vision. It also can indicate a promise being kept, as in the Biblical story about the rainbow as indicator that  the world will continue even after the darkest deluge.  It’s about keeping the faith and not giving up in the face of obstacles. The down side of this symbol is chasing after chimeras, getting involved in get-rich-quick schemes, or falling for opportunities that seem far too promising to be true. This reminds me of all the ads you see on TV for those wonderful devices, fat-burning pills and “miracle products” that make inflated claims and demand we “order NOW!”

The Kozminsky Symbol is a real three-ring circus!  Somehow the ringmaster manages to keep all the hoops spinning. That’s our job in the midst of chaos, just keep it all going. This Symbol relates to performing feats or making magic in front of others. Walking the high wire, twirling hoops of fire, working with wild animals and being shot out of a cannon require a certain amount of training, daring and panache.  The circus life is an active one. It’s an itinerant life, moving  from town to town. Performers pack and unpack, set up the tent and invite the public to witness their feats of daring. Another day, another challenge, becomes the norm.  Performers develop their skills through practice and experimentation. The ringmaster orchestrates it all.

How many rings are under the spotlight in your life? Do you know where the action is right now? How many hoops of fire can you juggle?  The key is to do all this with a smile and make it look easy! No matter what, you’re in control of your life; you’re the one who signals when the show’s about to start.

THE  DAILY DRAW:

2 of Cups / 3 of Wands

“Trapeze Act”. The 2 of Cups ties in with today’s Moon in Libra. The emphasis is on the other, meeting a partner, forming a relationship, opening the heart. We’re ready to share and be part of a dynamic duo now. We’re resolve problems by seeing things from the other person’s perspective. We may not see everything clearly, but we’re opening to the idea of life, love and work in tandem. The 3 of Wands is also a card of initial stages. Two come together and produce something that contains a bit of each but is entirely its own entity, with its own unique path.

Here’s where the 3-ring circus begins.  The audience awaits. We’re energetic, excited and ready to show everyone what we can do. We’re still training, but we’re willing to accept what’s offered and build on it.  We’re ready to trust that our partner, the other trapeze artist on our double bill, will catch us, and we’ll both “fly through the air with the greatest of ease.”
