The Daily Astro for March 5, 2013

TODAY’S ASTRO:
Sorry for the lapse yesterday, I’ve been having monster pains in my neck and shoulder so sitting in front of the computer more than absolutely necessary was nixed–it just hurt too much!
I hope you all didn’t have more excitement than you could take yesterday, it was probably intense and frantic in some quarters. The energy was very “dislocated” and I witnessed a great deal of acting out during the day. It was pressure-cooker time for many; some weren’t handling it too well.
Today starts off with a boomerang effect from yesterday, due to the Moon square Mars at 10:29 AM. Anger hangovers start the day off somewhat discordantly, especially since the Moon is then Void of Course until it enters Capricorn later in the evening. This ricochet reflex may throw us off guard, so keep your hand off the trigger if possible.
At 1:02 PM EST the Moon/Saturn aspect can bring us down or make us more inclined to keep our feelings to ourselves. These two aspects can mean that we feel agitated and isolated without a proper outlet for our frustrations. At 4:28 PM Venus conjuncts Chiron in Pisces, which, if we’re not using the energies properly, can add to the “woe is me” feeling. And then the Moon enters Capricorn at 7:14 PM EST. Today’s one of those “clampdown” days where we may feel emotionally shut down. Since Pisces deals with boundaries (as in diffuse or no boundaries) and Saturn/Capricorn also relates to boundaries (as in establishing them, building a “ring pass not” zone and claiming our turf), no doubt our limits we’ll be tested today. What’s your limit? Where do you set the bar? Who do you let in and who stays out? All these issues will come up. We may have to “defend our borders” today against those who try to breach them. Some of this will be legitimate, as we all need to stand our ground when others try to take things too far, but it’s also important to make sure you’re not putting up walls to keep others out.
Healing’s the big deal today. Ancient wounds may split open again, but this time we have a chance, with the Venus/Chiron conjunction, to finally deal and heal–deal with issues you’ve been avoiding, start the healing process, and move on instead of remaining stuck in limbo-land. Those of you with planets or chart points at around 10 degrees of the mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces) may find they’re in this process today or something triggers a healing crisis. Venus also sextiles Pluto and trines Saturn, so we’re dealing with long-term transformation here, which is why it may be unsettling at first. This combo is all about restructuring our inner mechanisms and removing blocks to our ability to love and find value in ourselves and others. Opening the heart is first on the agenda! Chiron also has a “back to the future” feel, so you may find yourself looping back and forth in time to see all sides of the issue–it’s like you’re consulting your past, present and future selves all at once. It’s a great day for alternative and treatments and techniques, so if you have time in the schedule today (the Moon in Capricorn may keep us nose-to-the-grindstone), take advantage of this healing energy.
THE SYMBOLS:
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “The flow of inspiration.”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A hawk with outspread wings standing on a trumpet.”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is: “INGENUITY”.
The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is: “RENOWN”.
Today’s Sabian Symbol keys into the massive Pisces energy we’re experiencing, especially today’s Venus/Chiron conjunction in that sign. It relates to creative energy actively put to use in day-to-day life. Its source is the divine, but it’s available to us at all times–IF we’re aware and open. It tells us that today is a day to stretch beyond the barriers, even if it’s uncomfortable or leaves us feeling exposed. The key here is to use this inspiration in the world (the Moon is in practical Capricorn today), by harnessing it and putting it to good use. Take or make time to get in touch with your intuitive side–see what comes to you.
The down side here is similar to Pisces traps–indulging in delusional thinking, deceiving/being deceived, wanting to slide by without making much effort, or avoiding the issue/s. There’s great potential here, and a prophetic clarity that can illuminate, but the spark has to be fanned into a flame.
The Kozminsky Symbol features a fearless bird of prey with wings extended, standing on a trumpet. To reach the heights, effort must be made (bringing us back to today’s practical and hard-working Moon in Capricorn). Hawks fly high and swoop down upon their targets with precision and accuracy. We’re being told to look at things from a different perspective, to take to “higher ground”. The trumpet reminds me of “angels on high” who used their trumpets to herald the divine. Remember to look at the bigger picture today and be receptive to anything that blasts you out of complacency.
There’s a call to healing, but the process is intense. Venus/Chiron with Pluto and Saturn puts us in the crucible and turns up the heat. What emerges from this alchemy is valuable, even though the procedure is grueling. Yesterday on the news I watched a story about a baby born HIV+ ( her mother had not sought any sort of treatment prior to her birth). The doctors felt it was imperative to treat her for the condition, so began when she was quite young, and now her HIV status has apparently switched from positive to negative. This may be just a start, but it’s the type of breakthrough in healing that can occur under these planetary aspects.
THE DAILY DRAW:
7 of Wands / Knight of Cups
The challenge is to open our hearts. Here’s two kinds of warrior energy. There’s a need to break down the barriers (Moon/Saturn aspect, Moon in Capricorn = limitations and blocks in expressing emotions in a flowing way) and open the heart (The Venus/Chiron/Pisces energy). We may be trapped in mental conditioning that limits our experience. We may also project this energy outward and feel we’re fighting demons, but they’re demons we’ve manifested.
If you’re being challenged, why now? What’s the real struggle? It’s important to get back in the flow again. This is a poetic/fairy-tale combo–the hero fighting the demon in order to save the imprisoned princess, to the applause of the entire kingdom. We need to take a risk-it’s a test of faith. It’s about seeking our own Holy Grail on our quest to find the truth. We’re afraid to get too close to it for fear we’ll be hurt, but it’s time to begin the journey.
