The Daily Astro for June 12, 2012

The Moon enters lively Aries at 12:21 AM today. An early Moon/Mars aspect can set crazy-day sparks flying, so don’t get too hot under the collar about things you can’t control. After that, the Moon conjuncts Uranus and squares Pluto and Mercury, so we’re still sizzling, and volatility is the theme of the day. It’s probably a good idea to practice counting from 1 to 10 (s-l-o-w-l-y); also remember to maintain your sense of humor. Exercise is one way to dissipate some of this high-voltage energy. Chiron goes retrograde in Pisces at 1:12 AM EDT and trines Mercury in Cancer, so a common theme that’s been emerging since the eclipse period is reiterated: look at the way you communicate, how you talk, the words you choose, and the meanings behind the words. Look into your past history and learn from it or close the door on it entirely and take a new road. Open up to wider possibilities. There’s plenty of opportunity for that now. Practice those lovely new ways of expressing yourself tonight when the Moon sextiles Venus–just speak from the heart.

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A barn dance. ”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A heap of stones over which ivy is growing.”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Gregariousness ”.
The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is “ Clinging ”.

Both of today’s Symbols involve relationships, each in their own way. A barn dance requires people to join together to celebrate, while the ivy requires the stones to provide it with the stability to enhance its growth. Cooperation and interaction are key in the examples given in both Symbols, and both contain a mild caution against becoming too dependent on another/the “other” for our happiness and well-being. Dancing might be a good way to channel some of the intense energies headed our way today (see above). The Sun’s in social butterfly Gemini and the Moon in Aries likes action–just don’t turn the dance floor into a mosh pit (unless everybody else is ok with it!) The Kozminsky ivy-over-stone image reminds me of Chiron’s retrograde into Pisces today, of the flow of history (like water striking the store). The image itself reminds me of castles overgrown with plants, of the march of time and inexorable change–if left unattended the ivy will grow exponentially and completely cover the stones, and the casual viewer will no longer see the details of the  “host” structure underneath.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: The Empress/ 4 of Wands
“Our House”. This combo immediately brought to mind the Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young song, with its evocation of a peaceful living space “with two cats in the yard”. These two cards express the vibe of this evening’s Moon in Aries sextile Venus in Gemini. This is a house where people have lively discussions, come and go, enjoy each others’ company, and underlying it all there’s a feeling of affection and contentment. People feel safe, protected and “at home” without feeling stifled or bored. It probably also has a large garden and maybe a badminton net! (Warning: Just keep the lawn darts away from the Aries people today!)
