The Daily Astro for May 17, 2012
The Moon remains in Aries today. Its ruler, Mars, starts off the day in an opposition to Chiron in Pisces, so we may wake up feeling like we’ve spent the night in battle with ourselves, trying to heal our wounds. The Moon sextiles Venus in Gemini and almost immediately thereafter opposes Saturn, so we’re trying to be bright and breezy and cooperative but run into roadblocks or get the cold shoulder from others. We may need to work a bit harder and dig deeper in order to reach our goals. Jupiter in stress aspect to Pluto asks us how much we’re willing to give up in order to achieve our ambitions and reach our goals–it could be one of those situations where you work very hard to ‘get’ somewhere (or something) and then it collapses under you or else it exacts a huge toll. This combination can just mean there’s “too much” and something has to give. We’re gearing up for the May 20 solar eclipse, so people may be trigger-happy and jittery as eclipse energy often is felt long before the actual date of the event.
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A woman pursued by mature romance.”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A woman looking into a crystal ball in which confused images are reflected .”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Persuasion ”.
The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is “Disorder ”.
Both of these Symbols feature a female central figure, so on an archetypal level we know we’re in the world of intuition and feeling. The Sabian Symbol shows us a woman finding love at a time when she may have felt that phase of her life was over. With Venus retrograde and in Gemini, people and situations from our younger days can recur, or things that remind us of that time can trigger memories and bring back mental images from our earlier years. What are these “blasts from the past” trying to show you/teach you? There’s a creative element (Venus) to all of this–did you have a hobby or talent that was important in your younger years that it may be time to revive? The Kozminsky Symbol shows ungrounded intuition. The woman is trying to get a message but sees only cloudy images. More study and thought are required in order to eliminate the confusion. This image reminds me that Neptune in Pisces will go retrograde on June 4th, so we need to ground ourselves in order to not be overcome by an onslaught of psychic debris. We need to be still and go deeper before we attempt to decipher the messages we are receiving.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: 2 of Cups/9 of Wands
This combination reminds me of long-term relationships or people that are in it for “the long haul”, despite setbacks and obstacles. The initial stages of love have brought them together, and the stress and storms of life, weathered together, have made them stronger. This combination brings to mind a situation in which two people reunite in this life in order to finish something not completed in a past life. Last time they may not have stayed together, one or both may have run away–this time they stay together until the end and work out whatever issues they evaded the first time around. It makes both stronger and brings in a feeling of grace and benediction.
