The Daily Astro for April 17, 2012

The Moon remains in Pisces today and is void of course from 10:34 AM EDT through 11:59 AM EDT tomorrow.  (Void of course is the time period between the last aspect of the Moon and the time it enters the next sign, which in this case is Aries).  Since the Moon is not only void of course but in Pisces, today is a perfect day to “disappear”.  People may feel unfocused or “spacy” today, and during a void of course moon things don’t always go as planned, or nothing comes of anything initiated at this time—it’s a “lost in the ozone” feeling.  The Moon’s major aspect today is with Jupiter in Taurus, which may elevate our mood and increase the feeling of being in tune with the universe. It’s a great day, if you’re able, for taking a break, meditating, doing yoga, working on creative projects (the only other aspect today of importance is a Mercury/Uranus connection, which may bring some exciting brainstorms…but be sure to write them down or you may find they disappear!)  Since Mercury has just entered Aries, the day might be difficult for the “go get ‘em types” as the lack of apparent progress may be frustrating. Today’s energy reminds me of a day spent outside lying on the grass watching the clouds roll by overhead.

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun:  “A large disappointed audience.

Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun:   “A lapidary holding in his hand a magnificent amethyst, at which he gazes admiringly.”

The Sabian Symbol keyword is “Responsibility” and the Kozminsky Symbol keyword is Fascination”.

Today’s Symbols reflect two sides of the same issue.  The Sabian Symbol highlights a lack of skill, planning, or consideration that leads to negative results and unhappiness, of “dropping the ball”. The point of view here is that of an audience that has gathered expecting to be entertained or enlightened; obviously they feel let down, deflated.  The experience wasn’t all that it could have been. One of the warnings for today is to check, then double check, everything you do, as things can take unexpected turns if you’re not properly focused or paying attention (and other people may be “somewhere else”, so if you’re relying on others, be extra careful that they understand what is needed.  The Kozminsky Symbol features a skilled craftsman admiring a beautiful gemstone, appreciating its worth and beauty.  This Symbol illustrates understanding the value of something and how to enhance that value (this stone, faceted and set properly, could be made into a magnificent piece of jewelry).  Note that the amethyst is February’s birthstone, and a stone related to Pisces—reflecting today’s Moon in Pisces.  It’s a stone that is considered a healing stone, a “dream stone” that helps us access our spiritual side.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote:  9 of Wands/7 of Cups

This combination reminds me of seeking a port in the storm, of a traveler who’s been circling the world, has seen many places, done many things, but finally needs to choose a place to land, to drop anchor for a time.  (There’s a feel of “The Flying Dutchman” about these two, for sure!)  There’s a sense of wandering, living many lives and having many interesting experiences (this combo seems very reflective of  past life dramas to me) and reaching the point where all the baggage is released, with a sense of relief. It’s a creative combination—experience plus imagination is a potent mix, but needs to be integrated and grounded to fully blossom.

  1. Thank you for clearing up what I am TRULY feeling today. I don’t feel like doing anything but lying in the sun watching the clouds roll by…nothing is important. And now I know that it’s OK to feel this way!
