The Daily Astro for April 2, 2012

The Moon is in Waxing Gibbous Phase today.

The Daily Astro for April 2, 2012

The Moon remains in Leo today (in Waxing Gibbous phase). This phase occurs before the advent of a Ful Moon (April 6) and generally means it’s time to marshall your energies; it also seems to carry some of the energy of a retrograde. (Remember, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn are all retrograde right now, highlighting this theme.) So it’s a time to evaluate your options and find ways to clarify, re-invent, re-issue, or refine things you’re concerned with or working on. With the Sun in Aries making a flowing aspect (the trine) to this Moon in Leo, we’re energized with the force of fire and are feeling creative; the Moon also squares Jupiter in Taurus, so we need to avoid being carried away by those “big feelings” and make sure to ground ourselves. Ceres square Saturn reminds us of our obligation to take care of pressing matters or respond to the needs of others–make time for that today.
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A serpent coiling near a man and a woman. ”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A man standing on a mountain gazing sadly on the valley below, where some men are fighting for a bag of gold whilst a monkey is eating their food. On his right is the spirit of Truth: on his left the spirit of Error; seated at his feet is the spirit of Love; behind him, holding on to his garment, is the spirit of Hate.”

The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Revelation” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Intercession ”.

Both Symbols for today refer to the levels human beings can achieve. The Sabian Symbol echoes both the story of Adam and Eve and the concept of the raising of energies (kundalini) as well as hinting at the hold temptation, passion, and pleasure have on us. Energy must be harnessed and channeled to enhance optimum development of all levels of the body, mind, and spirit. The Kozminsky Symbol has a similar meaning, showing the variety of paths and options the surround us (literally, in this Symbol!) and their positive and negative ramifications (men fight for gold but don’t notice their provisions are being devoured, Hate will drag us backwards). Both Symbols point to the need to follow a positive path amid the many distractions and lures of human life.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: 4 of Swords/7 of Swords
This combo seems to indicate a time period–from April through July–that can be a time of drawing back, emphasizing of a need to take off to assess our options, and to regroup and rethink our strategy. (See above for more “re” words relating to retrogrades.) The general theme of the current astrological energies is that it’s time to let go of coping mechanisms that don’t work any more, to release whatever holds us back–it’s time to shut the door. These two cards also ask us to take a hard look at the ways we keep ourselves “in the dark”, how we fool or con ourselves, and the mind games we play. Both of these cards emphasize what is hidden, locked away, what we don’t release or aren’t willing to admit to about ourselves. Both are swords, so it involves old patterning that starts at the mental level and we bring it into form. We’re reminded not to invoke negativity through our thought patterns and habits.
