The Daily Astro for April 1, 2012

The Moon is in Leo today (it enters Leo at 4:35 AM EDT), this April Fools’ Day/Palm Sunday. Our hearts are open to inspiration today as the Moon trines Uranus in Aries–take a chance, take a giant step, try something new, look at life as a gift to be unwrapped. Later in the day a twinge of discomfort may occur as you realize you’ve moved in deep waters; just remember to unleash the healing energies and you’ll get through.

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “An unsuccessful bomb explosion .”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A bright steel cross-sword with a handle of gleaming copper, above it a heart of gold from which stream shafts of golden light.” The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Impetuousness” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Light ”.

These two Symbols together speak of the need to be pure at heart in all your actions and only undertake them after proper thought and reflection. The Sabian Symbol image of the unexploded bomb highlights poor planning, poor-follow through, and carelessness, but since the plan was aimed at destruction, it’s actually a lucky break that the bomb remained inert–or a hint that those who plot evil will not succeed in the long run. The Kozminsky Symbol shows the right use of action, in service to light and love. The “heart of gold” (as this degree is under the influence of the Sun and the Moon is in Leo, the image is especially apt) is reminiscent of the heart with the symbol of Venus on it found on many versions of the Empress card, one of our cards of the day. Copper is the metal associated with Venus, further emphasizing the importance of the Venusian functions of love, care and concern.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: 2 of Cups/Empress
This combination echoes the Moon in Leo (open your heart) and the images found in the Symbols (see above) by alerting us to new beginnings in love, or giving us a chance to start over within our existing relationships. It asks us to determine what we most value and to make mature decisions about how we relate to others in order to help our relationships flourish. It speaks of cooperation and flowing energy, of an element of kindness, softness and willingness to help one another grow.
