TODAY’S ASPECTS:

Today begins with the Moon in Virgo, coming down from yesterday’s blast of New Moon energy. The Moon is Void-of-Course from 6:10 AM EDT until it enters Libra at 3:12 PM EDT, so the earlier part of the day works well as a catch-all, catch-up period. Make lists of those things that aren’t hard but you’d normally find too boring to bother with, and cross off each one in order. This will satisfy the Virgo Moon penchant for preciseness, especially since the day begins with the Moon conjunct Mercury, ruler of Virgo. Early today is one of those times where we’ll get off on organizing our calendar or planning for the week ahead. This combo has a “crossword puzzle” vibe. We’re psyched to figure things out, and are happy to have just enough built-in challenges to make the task interesting. Work that brain! If you find your mind’s getting fried, take a break and get some fresh air before you resume work.

The Moon enters sociable Libra at 3:12 PM EDT, ushering in the weekend on a cordial note. People are more inclined to socialize than to put the pedal to the metal right now, so focus on those tasks that involve interaction with others and things should glide right along. It’s a good time to connect with friends or hang out with loved ones. Things get a little ornery later tonight as the Moon contraparallels Uranus at 8:32 PM EDT. This is one of those “go your own way” aspects. Don’t be surprised if people suddenly stop cooperating or display adamant vehemence about something bizarre but extremely important. Just give ’em their space and that should prevent a meltdown. The Moon’s also sextile the Cupid asteroid, Eros, today, so this could mean someone’s been zapped by a sudden attraction that’s unexpected and obsessive. Signals are being sent and received! At 9:59 PM EDT the Moon inconjuncts Neptune, which adds to the spaciness/irrationality quotient evident tonight, so go see a movie or flex those creative muscles. The Libra Moon is a little overwhelmed by this Uranus/Neptune tag team, as seeking calm and balance ain’t easy when you’re trying to juggle chaos in one hand and mist in the other!

Today’s Sabian Symbol strikes a Libran note, echoing the Moon in Libra placement. This Symbol is all about good manners, refinement and doing all things with an air of grace and gentility. These days, fancy handkerchiefs are seen as quaint and old-fashioned, evoking a lost world. It shows a desire to raise yourself above the ordinary (after all, you could wipe your nose with your hand or some toilet paper, but that wouldn’t be quite as graceful, would it?) It also reminds me of novels and films where the female protagonist “loses” or “drops” her scented handkerchief in order to draw the attention of male admirers, so there’s a secondary layer of meaning to this symbol related to romance and intrigue. Under the Libra Moon, remaining poised, being polite and speaking in a pleasant tone will open more doors than being brash-n-crass. Negative manifestations include emphasizing form over function, being snobbish, worrying too much about status or for social niceties, or feeling superior/lording it over others–this reminds me of Hyacinth Bucket from the British TV show “Keeping Up Appearances.”

Today’s Kozminsky Symbol vibrates on the Uranian frequency, as does its keyword, “Arising”. This Symbol is about spreading the light of awareness. Kozminsky says it denotes “one of artistic, mystic, and philosophic mind” who travels far and helps others see the beauty of life. The rainbow speaks of integration, the Sun is the heart essence at the center of our being, so this symbol is about “raising the frequency.” Aim higher now. This symbol is about moving to the next level of understanding. It can also relate to sudden insight or psychic “flashes” (pure Uranus) that give us a glimpse of the future. Something is being activated; it’s time to answer the call.

“A New Dynasty Established”. Two Pentacles cards today, so we’re channeling Earth energy and a maturing awareness of the effect “time and tides” have on the process of civilization. The Page of Pentacles is the “slow and steady” card. Things will happen in their own time if we’re willing to work hard and wait. This pair really seems to me to indicate the rise of a new order, one that is more grounded and based more on stewardship of the earth–a “slow growth” formula. Generosity and patience lead to strength, security, and controlled growth. This combo, picking up on the 10 of Pentacles, is associated with lineage, the family line/family business, those who have gone before, legacies, and what we leave behind. It relates to inheritance and what we leave behind for future generations. Other ideas: establishing a reputation, what outlives us, building organically, in tune with cycles, fulfilling your destiny, how you’re connected to those who came before and will live after you, connection with past lives that inform the present, the fruits of karma.
