The Daily Astro for June 13, 2013

The Moon remains in Leo today. The day starts off with a Moon/Saturn connection (10:28 AM EDT), one I’d call the “kind of a drag” aspect. Any desires for world domination or forays into sparkly, shiny  behavior will have to be postponed because something terminally boring needs to be taken care of first. Sorry, just grit your teeth and do what needs to be done, then you can go buy the glitter nail polish. After that ultra-thrilling beginning, the Moon semisextiles  Mercury (10:54 AM EDT), so we go all Bee Gees and it’s “got to get a message to you” time, so if you have something to say, say it with conviction, but  keep it light and melodic.

The Moon hooks up with Neptune at 3:08 PM EDT, so take a space-out break after lunch. With most of the country staring at gray skies and worrying about tornadoes, floods and rain of bibilica proportions, rain, a little multi-hued escape fantasy doesn’t seem like such a bad idea. The Moon also inconjuncts Chiron at 4:37 PM EDT,  so we might be inclined to nurse an old wound or three. Don’t waste valuable dreamtime on  revenge scenarios or sloshy wallowing in self-pity. Visualize a better future; let go of negative past connections and open the door to new experiences.

This evening features Mercury parallel the Sun (7:12 PM EDT) and Moon sextile the Sun (11:14 PM), and we can almost feel the clouds lift as the mood lightens. All you silver-tongued devils have a chance to show off now. Everybody’s ready for some fun, flirtation and light-hearted revelry.  That Leo Moon, with these supportive aspects, finally gets a chance to shine as the day winds down. Be sure to take some time this evening to indulge your own interests, explore creative outlets, and discover what makes you happiest.

Sabian Symbol for today’s SUN: “ Three fledglings in a nest high in a tree.”

Kozminsky Symbol for today’s SUN: “A triangular-shaped hill. On one side the sun is shining on pleasant paths and beautiful foliage—the other side is dark and gloomy.”

The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is: “ELEVATION.”

The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is:  “TRIAL.”

Both of today’s Symbols relate to the number 3—three baby birds in the Sabian Symbol, and a triangular-shaped hill in the Kozminsky Symbol. The three relates to new possibilities, the birth of a talent, an eagerness to move freely, an an accent on creativity and communication. The young birds in the Sabian Symbol are high in a tree (high hopes and aspirations); soon they will learn to fly (freedom, self-actualization).  In order to do this, they will need to take a risk and venture away from the nest. There’s great potential here that has not yet been realized. The journey has only begun. We may have to try a few times before we figure out how to launch ourselves into the wild blue yonder.

On the down side, it tells us not to act in haste or take off before we’re truly ready. We must be ready to accept responsibility for our actions. It can also indicate fearful behavior, or getting “kicked out of the nest”.

The Kozminsky Symbol presents us with the idea of triangulation and the shadow side of the 3: making hasty choices, choosing the wrong path, or getting tangled up with things that take us to the dark side of life because we’re not strong enough to resist temptation. It can relate to difficult situations involving three people, hidden relationships or connections that take our lives in the wrong direction. It can also mean we will experience many changes in life (3 can be restless), and some will be difficult and harder to navigate.

The triangle is the same shape as the astrological T-square aspect, and we’ve been dealing with a series of Cardinal sign T-squares  this month, as planets enter the sign of Cancer and then oppose Pluto in Capricorn and square Uranus in Aries. The “empty space” is the remaining Cardinal sign, Libra, so we’ve had to figure out how to gracefully navigate pressurized situations while keeping our cool and taking the needs of others into account, even when we feel our brains are being fried or pulverized. Not an easy task. If you see the T-square as a triangle with an open base, you will understand the inherent instability (like a three-legged table), yet the sensitive point is often where we’ll find the solution and keep ourselves from toppling over.

9 of Swords / Queen of Swords

“Mourning Period.”  Here we have two Air cards, so most of what’s going on has origins in the mind or mental state. Extreme anxiety, possibly related to a death or loss. Disturbing or unsettling messages from someone who has passed on.  It’s time to let go of an obsessive relationship that involves a “no win” situation.   A woman with the initial “I” is under extreme stress, out of balance, or is at the end of her rope, depressed or is having suicidal thoughts. Panic, excessive worrying, or being in a generally unbalanced state. If this condition continues, it may be time to talk to a therapist, counselor or someone who can offer an objective view. Extremely negative thinking—thoughts that keep you chained. Examine your belief system, because it’s tearing you apart.  A“split mind” situation. The basis of your anxiety is an inability to feel anything.
