The Daily Astro for August 28, 2012

Round and round we go, and where we stop, nobody knows! (See both Symbols for today, below). Today we’re riding the Tilt-A-Whirl, so get ready. We start off with a squirmly Moon/Mercury connection at 12:46 AM EDT–our feelings may be going one way, our mind another. The Moon (still in Capricorn) squares Saturn in Libra at 6:33 AM (this starts a void-of-course period that lasts until around 1:38 PM EDT), so again, we may feel we need something in particular, but we aren’t necessarily going to get it from those around us, and it may seem like people are just looking for trouble. Stay out of the fray and hunker down somewhere nice and quiet for a while. With Uranus making aspects to several planets today, reversals, shocks, surprises should be considered the norm, especially after the Moon enters Aquarius (1:38 PM EDT)  and squares Mars in Scorpio. This energy is intense and the best way to use it is for brainstorming new ideas and seeking ways to transform current situations that are stagnant or need a recharge. Things may seem chaotic or disjointed, but we have our “to do” lists and we will plunge ahead anyway. Just don’t be stubborn or wedded to a particular outcome and progress will be made (though we might not understand the ramifications or benefits until later).

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A merry-go-round”.
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A large ballroom in which men and women are dancing.”
Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is: “Diversion”.
The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is “ Elegance.”

Both our Symbols today highlight circular motion and entertainment, grace, and diversion. The Kozminsky Symbol shows high spirits, being “light on your feet” and being open to pleasure and enjoyment. The text mentions scents and perfumes as well, so this Symbol relates to the totality of a pleasurable experience–the sights, smells, sounds and the way it makes you feel as you whirl through space. It’s about our place in the universal dance–can we jump in, feel the rhythm, and take our place in the cosmic minuet? The emphasis on rhythm, movement and music and being part of a larger group of dancers relates to the Moon in Aquarius. We’re part of a group, all participating, but each dances to their own music in their own way. The Sabian Symbol of a merry-go-round also relates to enjoyment and a whirling, swirling, almost psychedelic (Uranus) motion. It’s also about cycles of time (Saturn), and the ability to be open to pleasure. Like the Wheel of Fortune in tarot, this Symbol can relate to karma, to finishing cycles before we get our “ticket for the next ride”, meeting people from the past, having deja vu experiences, or just going around in circles doing the same thing over and over. (On the down side, this can refer to people with obsessive-compulsive disorders). It can mean we’re in the “social whirl” or are too busy and need to slow down, or that we need to learn when something has run its course and it’s time to call it a day. We learn from experience here; if we don’t, we wind up in an endless replay loop.

Today’s 2-Card Tarot Draw:
Death/6 of Swords
“End of The Line”.

Here’s a real “sayonara” combo. Time to get off the whirling wheel (see the Symbols, above) and call it a day. Death and 6 of Swords carry a similar meaning — taking a journey after a time of sadness/a need to release the past to move into the future without bringing with us old baggage or leftovers–we don’t need them anymore. There’s a serious feel, and sorrow, but also a sense of inevitability–it’s our destiny to leave the old behind and move on. We’ve plumbed the depths and learned our lessons, so it’s time to stop, assess, then be on the move again (another ride on the painted pony?)
