The Daily Astro for May 2,  2012

The Moon remains in Virgo until 10:04 PM EDT, when it enters Libra. Early in the morning, the Moon trine Jupiter gives us a mood-boost-blast and makes us feel expansive, ready to start the day on a high note (while we get things done: this is the “whistle while you work” aspect, as the Moon’s  in Virgo and Jupiter’s in Taurus). After that, Moon squares Venus so we may feel a little out of sorts when dealing with other people on a one-to-one basis, and after that the Moon will be void until it enters Libra, so it’s “catch up” or “finish up” time.  Don’t get discouraged if today feels like an endless sludge/drudge day–details are important, and sometimes we just have to plow through that huge list of annoying little things that need attending to, before they blossom into huge things we wish we hadn’t ignored. Once the Moon enters Libra the accent is on creativity, partnerships, and finding and initiating balance in your life. Take some time to relax after a long day of taking care of business!

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “A man handling baggage .”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “A judge in a court of law frowning at a man holding up a document .”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Industry ” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Gripping”.

Both of today’s Symbols highlight the idea of holding on to or gripping something. We can look at the “baggage” in the Sabian Symbol in a few different ways, as something we carry with us, or as something we’re holding on to that we really need to let go of.  With the Sun in fixed Taurus, we may feel we’re strong enough to carry everything, but sometimes we need to realize what that really entails.  The baggage-handler image can also alert us that we’re going to be busy with day-to-day tasks, moving objects or papers from one place to another all day long. The Kozminsky Symbol features a judge in court (this can be related to the Libra Moon tonight–Libra is connected with judges, courts, laws and lawyers). We don’t know the situation here, but the judge is frowning (never a good sign) at the man clinging to his document. Again, it brings up the question of whether we are hanging on to something essential, or whether we’re dealing with a lost cause. This Symbol also shows determination and a willingness to fight for our rights even against ‘official’ disapproval, of being able to “carry the weight” over the long haul–like the baggage-handler in the Sabian Symbol, we won’t let go until we’ve finished the job.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: 2 of Wands/Empress
As the 2 of Wands relates to Mars in Aries and the Empress relates to Venus, here’s a matched set. Mars, at home in its own sign of Aries, and Venus, can be good partners. The 2 of Wands sets us off on our journey to find our “home”; while the Empress tells us we’re already home–we carry it with us always. This combination reminds me of someone setting off on an adventure with the support and love of family and friends, who have helped inspire and provision the traveler for the journey.  It also relates to putting your energy into whatever you love and value most–to feed your passion and watch it grow. The Moon enters Venus-ruled Libra (the opposite sign from Aries) later tonight, so finding a balance between individual initiative and independence and sharing/working together in partnership is key here.
