The Moon is in Virgo today.

The Daily Astro for May 1, 2012

The Moon remains in Virgo today, which generally is a down-to-earth influence, but early this morning that Virgo Moon connected with Neptune, Mars, and Uranus, so we may have been rocketed from our sleep (if we were able to sleep at all!) with some pretty funky dreams and visions.  Mercury’s connection with Neptune adds another layer of fuzziness to our thoughts and our ability to think clearly, but it’s a great day for finding creative solutions to practical problems or for working on a project that requires imagination and “out of the box” thinking, especially later in the day as the Moon, Pluto and the Sun form a Grand Trine in earth. Hard work can help us unearth something valuable (see the Kozminsky Symbol for today), based on our initial visualization (see today’s Sabian Symbol).

Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun:  “Window-shoppers.”

Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun:   “Two diggers working on a mountain-slope unearth a large mass of glittering gold.”

Today’s Symbols combine well.  The Sabian Symbol shows one step of a process—of taking a look at your options and deciding what you like, what you want, and if it’s worth having, and the Kozminsky Symbol features people hard at work uncovering something valuable. It’s a great metaphor for the creative process. If we stop at the “how much is that doggie in the window” phase, we never get past the desire or make the final choice; and if we start working without an awareness or vision of what we really want, we may expend a great deal of effort looking for something that may have value to others but not to us. I also like the image of the gold in the earth as “buried treasure”, which seems apt today as Pluto is involved in the Grand Trine in Earth. Pluto often relates to whatever is hidden, buried—it’s a vital life force, a source of power and strength (like magma inside the earth) that can influence us from a very deep level (and often unconsciously), until we begin to understand its importance in fueling our actions.

The Sabian Symbol keyword is “Visualization” and the Kozminsky Symbol keyword is “Endurance”.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote:   10 of Swords/9 of Cups

This combination tells us it’s time to make a lasting commitment, even though it’s been a hard slog.  The 9 of Cups, the card associated with the Scorpio decanate of Pisces, echoes the feel of the 10 of Swords (if I was using this for timing, the 10 of Swords would be in the Scorpio time of October), so the focus is on emotional transformation (it’s not a question of just thinking about doing it—you’re in it! ) Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio so it it all lops back to my comments on Pluto (see above). This is also a “buried treasure” combination: it’s time to be fulfilled, to go after whatever it is that calls to your soul—it’s not just a question of wishing for it, but of removing all obstacles that stand in the way.  This combination also seems to me like “emotional acupuncture”—removing whatever blocks the flow and impedes our healing.
