The Daily Astro for April 22, 2012

The Moon’s in Taurus–hope you all have been enjoying this New Moon in Taurus (it’s in a Grand Trine with Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn, so the energy is flowing and growing towards manifestation).  Today the Sun trines Neptune so it’s an ideal day for all sorts of imaginative creations, film, theater, art, dream analysis, beautifying your home or garden, especially when the Moon conjuncts expansive Jupiter at 1:10 PM EDT. One caveat: since the Moon/Jupiter aspect hits around the time the Moon is void of course, all those big ideas may not materialize quite the way you intended, so don’t be disappointed. Mercury joins Uranus in Aries today, so it’s brainstorm time–intuitive flashes and sudden bursts of inspiration can take us down a new path. As Mercury is hitting its shadow point from the retrograde, we may find “old” things coming back again (whether people, ideas, things that need to be reassessed or redone). Try and find a clever new way to deal with old things by “repurposing”, as they say in the decorating business.  Maybe there’s some life in the old thing yet!
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “Steps up to a lawn blooming with clover .”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A man tossing handfuls of seed to the earth, which, as soon as they touch, fructify and incline towards him . ”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “ Hopefulness ” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Fortune ”.
These two Symbols certainly illustrate the plus side of a New Moon in Taurus, as both show us the
bounty of nature and emphasize fertility and the urge towards growth. The steps up to the field of clover show optimism and a desire to climb upward to understanding and enlightenment; clover generally signifies prosperity and a light-hearted spirit as well as being an ancient symbol of the Holy Trinity (3 in 1–the three leaves of the clover). The man tossing seed to earth obviously has that Johnny Appleseed touch, as the minute the seed hits earth it begins to grow towards him. In both cases, the person must make the first step (in the Sabian, by walking up the steps towards the clover, and in the Kozminsky, by gathering and throwing the seed) in order to reap the benefits.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: The Devil/ 8 of Wands
This combination brings up the idea of quickly releasing old, bad habit patterns that have caused us shame or grief over the years. The Capricorn emphasis of the Devil speaks to excessive materialism, shame issues around the body, negative habits, and keeping ourselves chained to old patterns by refusing to change (it can take some time for earth signs to make changes as they can become embedded within the body–but with the New Moon in Taurus in a productive trine to Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn, as mentioned above, the energy, desire and ability to transform ourselves is there, we just have to tap into it). The 8 of Wands (8 is a very Plutonic number also, reinforcing this theme), relates to Jupiter in Sagittarius, so broadening our horizons, being optimistic, or getting away from the places and people that reinforce our bad habits is one way to release old patterns. There can be a sudden realization of the need to take action. It involves the death of the old and the ability to see underneath the situation (like “X-ray vision”). It’s a healing journey, we may feel like we are finally “going home” to ourselves.
