TODAY’S ASTRO:
Change is in the air this week! On Wednesday, Jupiter turns direct at 6:37 AM EST and on Friday Mars moves from Aquarius to Pisces at 8:54 PM EST, closely followed, at 9:47 PM EST, by Venus’ move from Capricorn to Aquarius. I’ll talk about these more during the week, but it’s likely we will all feel an “energy shift” this week.
Today begins with the Moon in Leo. We’re off to an uneasy start as the Moon connects in an “adjustment” aspect with Venus in Capricorn at 7:41 AM EST. People may not wake up in a cooperative mood or be particularly sociable this morning. At 9:35 AM EST a Moon/Pluto aspect intensifies the generally grumpy/anti-social theme. Next up is the Moon opposite Mars in Aquarius at 11:59 AM EST. It’s safe to say today is not the greatest day to schedule a breakfast or lunch meeting! Since the Moon is void-of-course for a large chunk of the day, whatever it is that has you all steamed up and outraged probably isn’t going to amount to much in the long haul. The smart move is to use that Mars mojo to catch up with whatever you were too distracted to finish on Friday and just let the past go bye-bye. Focus on the future and use that energy to move forward.
The Moon moves to Virgo at 6:27 PM EST and then opposes Neptune at 10:07 PM EST. This may be one of those times when we try to be so organized we move everything around, box it up neatly, and then promptly forget which container holds the thing we seek. The Moon and Neptune gang up on orderly Virgo here and neat-n-tidy types may be frustrated, but it’s a fine aspect for spiritual investigations, focused meditation and fine-tuning your creative abilities.
THE SYMBOLS:
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A flag turned into an eagle .”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A large, bright, military shield lying on a mountain, from which stream rays reflecting shafts of brilliant light.”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is: “ DRAMATIZATION”.
The Keyword for the Kozminsky Symbol is “REPUTATION”.
The theme for the Sabian Symbol is loyalty, patriotism, and a desire to “stand for something”. The eagle has long been associated with power, speed, and forcefulness. It also soars high in the sky and sees all in its realm from a different perspective than those of us confined to the ground. At the highest level, it refers to protection, watchfulness, and the visionary qualities found in all great leaders. The eagle is often associated with the Emperor and Empress in the tarot to signify mastery of their respective spheres and the wisdom that comes with seeing things as a whole. The down side of this Symbol is abuse of power, using patriotism as a cover for other activities, or rashly jumping to defend yourself and your principles when you feel you’ve been offended, or retaliating against those who disagree with you. Here we see the Moon-Mars opposition in action. With the Moon in Leo, if our pride or dignity is involved, we can react abruptly because we feel our principles are being maligned–or we feel we need to defend our nation or clan (Mars in Aquarius).
The Kozminsky Symbol brings in the Emperor energy by depicting a shield (Mars). Here, the shield seems to have a totemic representation. It, like the eagle in the Sabian Symbol, is at high elevation, denoting an ability to rise above or take a broader view, and shafts of light are bouncing off it, showing the power and energy that bring positive results. The keyword, “reputation”, indicates that valorous actions (the shield) lead to being held in high regard by others. There’s an aura of protection here, of strength of purpose and wisdom acquired from experience.
THE DAILY DRAW:
10 of Cups/10 of Swords
Two 10s, so we’ve hit the Full Moon point in our cycle–things have gone as far as they can go and there’s a sense of finality and a realization that we need to move to the next phase of life. This combination asks us whether we’re finally ready to give up the “family curse” and end an old cycle. A great deal of fulfillment is ours once we decide to release the past. This combo is like the “get out of jail free” card in the Monopoly game. Take note of your dreams for keys to your future path, it’s truly the journey from darkness to dawn.
