The Daily Astro for April 26, 2012
The Moon enters Cancer at 1:42 AM EDT today and makes a slew of aspects: to Neptune, Mars, Uranus, Sun, Chiron, and Pluto. We may wax nostalgic early in the day, but later on, the aspects to Mars and Uranus can take us in exciting and unexpected directions (nostalgia really isn’t what it used to be!) We will be dragged kicking and screaming out of our comfort zones, but maybe that’s a good thing. The last aspect of the day, Moon opposite Pluto at 8:31 PM EDT, can raise tensions and bring in a feel of emotional manipulation and control-freakism setting in (cue the creepy horror film music!) but can also help us blast through blocks and engage in a little personality alchemy, if we’re open to it.
Sabian Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A woman of Samaria.”
Kozminsky Symbol for today’s Sun: “ A beautiful white wan swimming on a smooth lake edged by lilies and grasses and pretty little wild flowers.”
The Keyword for the Sabian Symbol is “Awakening” and for the Kozminsky Symbol it’s “Tranquility”.
Both Symbols feature water imagery (in the Biblical story, the woman of Samaria was at a well when she met Jesus ) and relate to finding the beauty or the highest value in our experience of life. The Moon is also in water sign Cancer today (the Moon rules the sign of Cancer), so it’s particularly at home and conducive to channeling heightened emotional states. Both Symbols also hint that what we’re looking for can be found in our immediate environment, in our daily lives and through an appreciation of nature and natural rhythms, if we’re receptive (this is where the Moon and water signs excel–they’re a conduit for emotion and feeling). Both also feature the idea of isolation or of being alone (the woman of Samaria was an outcast, the swan swims alone on the lake) as a means of achieving a higher state of calm or peace. Put the key words together and you have “awakening tranquility”.

Tarot Enhancer/Antidote: Chariot/5 of Pentacles
Here we have a Cancer card (Chariot) and one that represents Venus in Taurus. Since the Moon’s in Cancer today and the Sun is in Taurus, this combo is highlighting issues of emotional grounding and raises the issue of what our deepest values are/ what makes us feel secure and centered in our power. This combination can mean that we’re on a new path that may feel shaky at first, or makes us feel unprotected or abandoned. We may need to ‘lose’ old aspects of ourselves before we morph into someone new, and that can be frightening if we feel we are not being supported or if we don’t quite believe in ourselves. This can be a time where we feel we are in charge but don’t feel quite up to the task yet, even though it’s time to take the reins. Negative emotions and feelings of lack and fear need to be processed and worked through so that a temporary setback doesn’t skitter into something more permanent.
